American Airlines to resume seasonal flights from Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach International Airport is going to get busier this holiday season.

American Airlines recently announced plans to resume nonstop flights to and from Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport and Washington Reagan International Airport in December.

“The resumption of these seasonal flights is great news for our community and visitors, especially since many airlines are still making reductions in their schedules as they continue dealing with the shortage of pilots,” said Joanne Magley, with DBIA’s air service, marketing and customer service department, in a county media release.

The Dallas and Washington D.C. regions are two of the top markets for the Daytona Beach airport, according to the county release.

In the most recent Florida Department of Transportation statewide Aviation Economic Impact Study, Daytona Beach International Airport generates an annual economic impact of more than $2.1 billion and provides more than 2,300 local full-time jobs, the release states.
