Applications Open for Volusia Innovation Challenge 2025
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Volusia Innovation Challenge, offering an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and small business owners in the local community, according to a county media release. This pitch competition enables participants to validate their product concepts, receive expert guidance and compete for cash and in-kind prizes to launch or scale up their ventures in Volusia County. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31.
“As someone deeply passionate about the growth of our community, I truly believe in the Innovation Challenge,” said Volusia County Economic Development Director Lou Paris, in the release. “It gives local entrepreneurs the chance to share their ideas and dreams while providing the critical support they need to turn those dreams into reality. Watching these innovators connect with mentors, investors, and resources is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about building businesses; it’s about lending a hand to ideas that can flourish and benefit the county through the creativity and ambition of our residents.”
This year’s competition is open to all innovators, expanding eligibility beyond previous years when only local college or university students could participate. To help interested individuals learn more about applying, workshops will be held at the following locations:
- 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, 126 E. Orange Ave., Daytona Beach
- 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the Rinker Auditorium at Stetson University’s Lynn Business Center, 345 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand
