Brunswick Corp. Reports 3Q Earnings
Mettawa, Illinois-based Brunswick Corp., whose Boston Whaler division operates a manufacturing facility in Flagler County, announced net sales of $1.3 billion in the third quarter, down from $1.6 billion during the same period in 2023, according to a company media release.
The company’s boat segment, which includes Boston Whaler, reported a 19% decrease in sales for the quarter.
“Our businesses delivered solid results as our continued market share gains, wealth of new products and expanded contributions from recurring revenue businesses resulted in third-quarter financial performance in-line with expectations despite the challenging marine market,” said Brunswick CEO David Foulkes in the release.
Foulkes said the company expects new boat sales to decline approximately 10% for the full year. That is likely to lead to lower production levels at manufacturing facilities, he added.
Recent severe weather in the Southeast is also expected to lower sales, Foulkes said.
“The recent hurricanes impacting Florida and the Southeastern U.S. are also expected to have a modest negative impact on demand in those areas,” he said.
