Conde Nast Readers Rank Amelia Island in Annual Survey

With travel and tourism recovering from the pandemic-induced hiatus, Northeast Florida is high on the list of preferred destinations.

In its annual Reader’s Choice Awards poll of top destinations, Conde Nast Traveler readers voted Amelia Island as the No. 3 top island in the U.S., behind South Carolina’s Hilton Head Island and Kiawah Island.

“We’re excited to once again be recognized as a Top U.S. Island b the readers of Conde Nast Traveler,” said Gil Langley, president of the Amelia Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, in a media release. “Notable recognition such as this keeps Amelia Island top-of-mind and attracts curious visitors to our 13 miles of coastline. This is an accomplishment for the entire community and tourist industry.”

The online reader survey was conducted from April 1-June 30, and candidates must receive a minimum number of responses and a minimum overall rating to be eligible, according to Conde Nast Traveler.

In addition to the ratings, comments from survey participants indicated that more people are planning on traveling in the coming months. In the magazine’s explanation of the survey methodology, Conde Nast Traveler editors said more than 25% of respondents said they planned to travel “more than ever before.”
