What does your company do?

Details Flowers Software connects the world’s best florists with the finest suppliers around the globe. Details is an all-in-one software solution that combines real-time inventory data, streamlined proposal creation and easy payment collection for wedding and event florists and also helps suppliers forecast demand and build a loyal client base too.

What is your background and how did you get into the business?

I was born into the flower industry with my family’s foliage business in Central Florida. But I fell in love with the flowers during my first job in high school as a birthday event coordinator (AKA Chuck E. Cheese!). After college, I worked for several retail flower shops, importers and event designers before I jumped into creating my very own floral software called Details Flowers Software.

What sets your company apart from others?

At Details, we develop intentionally for the flower industry by solving issues of stem counts, designing recipes for profitability, everyday workflows and payments. While most software companies build a one-size-fits-all for any industry, we develop specifically for florists/importers. We combine our creativity and expertise to develop adaptive solutions to help the entire floral supply chain.  

What is the biggest challenge your business faces?

The biggest challenge facing my business right now is growing pains. We’ve grown so much over the last couple of years, but there are still some areas that need refinement and more automation. We are also planning to dive deeper into our sales process to further develop it and make some changes in our client discovery processes.  

What do you enjoy most about your job?  

I really love digging into all of the data to find key differentiators and new opportunities. Our daily work is always evolving with the information, which helps my team to create and develop the next “big thing.”

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs? 

My advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is to trust your instincts and never give up.  

What does being an entrepreneur mean to you? 

Freedom and opportunity! There is not a job in the world better than the one that I handcrafted for myself. I feel extremely fortunate that I am able to work every day on my ideas while also giving incredible opportunities to those I surround myself with. Oh! What a dream to be an entrepreneur.
