County Seeks Advisory Board Members
Volusia County residents interested in getting involved with Volusia County government, advisory board membership are available, including several business and economic development-related boards, according to a county media release. The Volusia County Council is seeking applicants for positions on 19 advisory boards that make recommendations on topics affecting the county.
The advisory boards were established to give citizens input into what happens in their community and to advise the County Council on matters that affect residents and their county government. Applicants should have the expertise necessary to accomplish the board’s objectives, a reputation for integrity and community service, and an interest or experience in the area of board service desired, the release states.
Applicants will be accepted for the following boards:
Agri-Business Interrelationship Committee
Animal Control Advisory Board
Children and Families Advisory Board
Code Enforcement Board (applicants must be an architect, businessperson, engineer, general contractor, subcontractor or realtor)
Cultural Council
Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities Commission
ECHO Advisory Committee
Educational Facilities Authority
Environmental and Natural Resources Advisory Committee
Halifax Area Advertising Authority
Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida
Historic Preservation Board
Housing Finance Authority
Planning and Land Development Authority
Southeast Volusia Advertising Authority
Tourist Development Board
Value Adjustment Board
Volusia Forever Advisory Committee
Volusia Growth Management Commission
West Volusia Advertising Authority
According to the release, applicants must live in Volusia County and should have the expertise necessary to accomplish the board’s objectives, a reputation for integrity and community service, and an interest or experience in the board’s purview.
