Daytona CVB Receives Flagler Award
The Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau was honored by VISIT FLORIDA with a Flagler Award at the recent 2024 Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, according to a media release.
Named for Henry Flagler, the Flagler Awards were established in 2000 to recognize outstanding tourism marketing in Florida. The awards are open to all individuals, private businesses and not-for-profit organizations offering a product or service that promotes tourism to or within the state of Florida, the release states.
The Daytona Beach Area CVB received the Silver Award in the Radio Advertising category for its radio commercial spot that aired in the New York City area. The spot utilizes familiar sound effects to encourage New York City area residents and visitors to catch a flight and take a vacation to the Daytona Beach area. The commercial was planned and produced in collaboration with the CVB’s advertising agency of record, The Zimmerman Agency.
“We are honored to receive a Flagler Award from VISIT FLORIDA at the recent Florida Governor’s Conference,” said Lori Campbell Baker, executive director for the Daytona Beach Area CVB, in the release. “The entire team works diligently to showcase Daytona Beach as a unique and exciting destination for travelers to visit and this recognition from VISIT FLORIDA is a testament to all of the hard work done by our Board, the Halifax Area Advertising Authority; The Zimmerman Agency, our agency of record; and our marketing team, under the leadership of CVB Director of Marketing & Design, Kay Galloway.”
