Daytona State Among Best Colleges in Florida

Research.com has named Daytona State the best among state colleges – and 46th overall – in its 2023-24 ranking for Best Colleges in Florida, according to a media release. 

DSC, along with Tallahassee Community College and State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, shared top honors in two categories. Research.com ranked them first as the most popular state colleges in Florida, as well as offering the best value within the Florida College System.

“We strive to give every student the best possible college experience and these rankings prove that out,” said Tom LoBasso, president of Daytona State, in the release. “Our mission is to give students the tools they need to succeed as they continue their education and enter the workforce.”

Every year, Research.com, one of the leading academic platforms, publishes its ranking of the best U.S. colleges that provide their students with the most beneficial combination of affordability, quality of education, and projected alumni salary. 

The ranking includes more than 1,700 institutions that were selected from more than 6,000 institutions based on a detailed analysis of more than 400 metrics from credible sources such as IPEDS and College Scorecard and evaluated using a unique entropy method.

Daytona State has been recognized as a leader in higher education numerous times. U.S. News & World Report ranks the College among the Top Tier Best Online Bachelor’s Programs. The U.S. Department of Education’s College Affordability and Transparency Center ranks DSC among the top 50 most affordable public four-year institutions in the country, with less than half the tuition of the national average. And U.S. News & World Report has ranked DSC among its Top Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans multiple times.
