Did you know nearly 300 industries offer franchise opportunities?

When it comes to innovative ways to attract visitors and Florida’s destination marketing organizations and tourism development offices, the sky is no longer the limit. In addition to miles of sandy beaches, natural wonders and theme parks, the Sunshine State is poised to become a hub of space tourism activities.

With Virgin Galactic, SpaceX and Blue Origin all launching celebrities and private citizens to the stars in 2021, the space tourism industry is expected to keep on its upward trajectory in the coming years.

That includes a venture from Space Perspectives, which will offer a balloon-like experience for eight travelers at a time, complete with a lounge. The spaceship will travel at 12 mph to the edge of space, staying there for two hours before coming back to Earth, ending with a splashdown. The company hopes to begin commercial flights in 2024 from Florida’s Space Coast.

While space tourism flights now are limited to trips to the edge of space, officials expect customers will eventually be able to travel deeper into space, with possible visits to the International Space Station on the itinerary.
