Did You Know the Bionic Man is Real?

In the early 1970s, “The Six Million Dollar Man” amazed television viewers with the possibilities of medical science. But what once was science fiction is now science fact–and we have the technology not to make a new superhero, but to help people live fuller lives.

Earlier this year at the 2024 China Import and Export Fair, that technology was honored with the Best of the Best Award for the BrainCo Intelligent Prosthetic Bionic Hand, according to a media release.

The event attracted 1,242 companies to participate, with 2,318 products under review. After several rounds of deliberation, 147 products were shortlisted, with a shortlisting ratio of about 6.3%. Among these works, only two received the highest honor, Best of the Best Award, one of which is the BrainCo Intelligent Prosthetic Bionic Hand, the release states.

“This is what today’s industrial design pursues, applying intelligent technology to life to help those in need,” said He Renke, chairman of the award jury, in the release.

BrainCo has previously won many international design awards, including the Red Dot: Best of the Best, the iF Design Award, and the Design Intelligence Award Gold Award.
