Flagler College Grad to Head National Fisheries Institute
Lisa Wallenda Picard was introduced to members of the National Fisheries Institute as the organization’s new president and CEO in January at the NFI Global Seafood Market Conference in Palm Springs, Calif.
A Flagler College graduate, Picard most recently served as senior vice president for policy, trade and regulatory affairs at the National Turkey Federation, according to a media release from the trade association.
Picard joined NTF in 2011 and before that was the chief of staff for USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. She also served as national director of public relations for Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus. She also spent several years lobbying on animal welfare and agriculture issues.
NFI, incorporated in 1945, is the largest seafood trade association in the United States. Picard will be the association’s fourth president.
