Flagler Economic Development Hosts JaxUSA

The Flagler County Economic Development Department recently hosted industry leaders from seven Northeast Florida counties for the JaxUSA Regional Partnership quarterly meeting. A highlight of the meeting was a tour of Gioia Sails South facility at 10 Commerce Blvd. in Palm Coast, according to a county media release.

“It was such an honor to host this meeting and wonderful to be able to showcase a Flagler County manufacturing success story,” said Economic Development Manager Dolores Key, in the release. “Patrick Moynihan, a Gioia Sales South partner, graciously showed us around the 50,000 square foot light manufacturing plant.”

Gioia Sails – originally established in the mid-1960s in New England – opened its Palm Coast location in 2007. While it started with fewer than 10 employees, the company expanded operations in its 17 years in Flagler County and now employs more than 100 people.

“The purpose of the JaxUSA Regional Partnership meeting is to bring the members together to compare notes, learn about regional economic trends, and gather information about initiatives that affect economic development efforts statewide,” Key said, in the release. “There is no better way to kickstart those discussions than touring a company, like Gioia Sails, which takes pride in being the number one yacht and boat outfitter for interior and exterior canvas solutions for both commercial clients and private owners.”
