From The Editor

Welcome to the inaugural issue of EVOLVE Palm Coast Region, a quarterly business magazine designed to inform you of industry trends relative to our community in order to better help you understand how business is changing and how customers might respond.

We have chosen ‘Health and Wellness’ for our August theme. According to the Global Health Institute, between 2015 and 2017, the industry has been growing at 12.8% per year and is now worth $4.2 trillion.

We begin with an overview of the future of healthcare in our community. In the article Flagler Health+ Brings New Vision of Healthcare to Palm Coast, we discuss the health village concept, including its potential impact on social health and well-being. In Medical Nexus Project Offers Palm Coast Room to Grow, we highlight the significance of the nation’s first comprehensive, university-based medical and health care nexus and the impact of this public-private partnership on medical education, technology development and the future growth of Palm Coast Town Center.

In our Shining A Lightyou will learn about Designs for Health. What began as a small business in the Northeast is now a Palm Coast based leader in the dietary supplements industry and distributes products across the globe.

In Secret to Success: Small Businesses Share Their Secrets to Success in a Trillion Dollar Industry, we profile three successful small business owners whose personal passion for their crafts and desire to help people live healthier is enriching the lives of their customers and our community.

In The Road Ahead, a recurring thought leadership feature, Robert Chamberlain, Chairman and CEO of Applied Health Analytics, makes the case that data should drive the way to better employee health.

To provoke some self-thought and exploration, read Emotional Intelligence: How Self-Awareness Impacts Decision-Making and then take a look at Staying Well in Your Workspace for tips on staying healthy in your home office and thoughts on the future of office spaces.
