Game-Changing Town Center “Promenade” Breaks Ground

In a grassy field under a tent, flanked by two bulldozers, Palm Coast Mayor David Alfin and other local dignitaries welcomed the beginning of a major investment in Palm Coast’s Town Center. Directly behind the well-known Flagler-Palm Coast High School, this large, mixed-use development will feature commercial and retail opportunities on the ground floor, with residential units on the floors directly above. The development, called The Promenade” will face Palm Coast’s Central Park, with City Hall serving as a backdrop for a picturesque view.
“The location and type of project is what makes this a game-changer,” said Greg Blose, President & CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Thousands of cars drive by the intersection of Bulldog Drive and Central Avenue in Town Center each day. For residents to see the construction and to know that shops and retail establishments will be included on the ground floors will mark a mental shift. Town Center is being built out elsewhere, but at this busy intersection, residents will watch the construction on a focal point of the future of Palm Coast.”
Like most counties in Florida, Flagler County is growing with 80,000 net new residents expected between 2020 and 2040. More investments are already occurring “down the street” on SR-100, where BJ’s Wholesale Club, Ale House and more new establishments are expected to open within weeks. Even the nearby Hilton Garden Inn recently renovated to keep up with the new look of their neighbors.
