Learn How to Fund Your Business at Funding Readiness 2024
Entrepreneurs and small business owners will have an opportunity to “Learn from the Experts” at the Volusia Business Resources (VBR) Funding Readiness Workshop being held at The Center at Deltona on Oct. 2. Volusia County’s Division of Economic Development is hosting the event to arm attendees with tools and knowledge that they’ll need to secure critical funding for their business venture.
The workshop will feature lenders, financial professionals and small business consultants who will share expertise and insights to help small businesses navigate the sometimes-complex lending process. Attendees will learn what lenders and investors expect, know where pre-application work is required, and be able to recognize the type of funding that best fits their venture’s need.
Daryle Scott, founder of Venus Swimwear, will be the event’s featured speaker. Scott, a Stetson University graduate, founded a mail-order startup from his dorm room and transformed it into Venus Swimwear, a $100 million international brand. Attendees will get to hear his inspiring story and learn how he acquired funding to propel his business to heights few entrepreneurs ever achieve.
Another workshop highlight will be the introduction the Volusia Business Resources Funding Readiness Center. This new business funding resource provides users with tools for assessing funding readiness, expanding financial knowledge, and guiding business owners to outside capital alternatives that fit their business.
“By packaging the VBR Funding Readiness tools and experts together in a workshop, we provide entrepreneurs and small businesses with a high value learning opportunity that can be applied immediately, or bookmarked for when capital needs arise in the future,” said Volusia County Economic Development Director Lou Paris. “It is an event attendees will find worthy of the time they invest.”
The VBR Funding Readiness Workshop is free to attend and includes lunch with the keynote. Workshop check-in starts at 8 a.m., and activities end at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 2. Attendees will need to preregister via Eventbrite at https://VBR-Funding-Readiness-2024.eventbrite.com.
