Meaghan Sutter
Port Orange Acupuncture

What does your company do?

We offer a holistic and complimentary approach to conventional medicine specializing in acupuncture, traditional cupping, food therapy, Chinese herbs, and therapeutic massage.

What is your background and how did you get into the business?

During my adolescent years I envisioned a career in healthcare with a focus on administration. I later earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of Central Florida in Health Services Administration and obtained a top position in the accounting department at a major hospital in Orlando. The unfulfilling and monotonous days of balancing budgets and processing expense reports finally set in and I felt my fulfillment would be on the clinical side of healthcare. This realization led me to pursue a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in Professional Health Studies at the Florida College of Integrative Medicine.

Today, I am a board certified Acupuncture Physician with a diplomate status and the proud founder of Port Orange Acupuncture.

What sets your company apart from others?

Treatments are face-to-face individualized care specific to patient needs. Pleasantries get exchanged, rapport is established, treatment plans are described and extra time is given to the patients for questions and answers. That’s how we go the extra mile.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I am passionate about acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Therefore, it does not feel like a “job” to me.

Do you have any plans to grow/expand the company in the future?

I want to stay the course and steadily grow Port Orange Acupuncture within my capabilities of providing the level of care I offer now.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

I would advise others to do what you love and the rest will follow.
