Rep. Tom Leek Provides Great Keynote Speech, PCF Chamber Installs New Leaders
State Representative Tom Leek was the keynote speaker for the PCF Chamber’s 4th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The topic, however, was not politics, but rather his experience in scaling what is now one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the nation. Foundation Risk Partners started off at just two companies with a value of $2 million. Just four years later, the company is valued at over $2 billion. Tom Leek is the Chief Legal Officer of Foundation Risk Partners. Leek said planning, focus and uniqueness were all key factors that helped scale Foundation Risk Partners to the nationally recognized firm it is today.
Immediately following Rep. Tom Leek’s keynote speech, the PCF Chamber Board Chair role changed hands from Garry Lubi (SouthState Bank) to Michael Chiumento (Chiumento Law). The Board Chair role is a two-year commitment, with Michael Chiumento’s term running from 2024-2026.
During an interview Garry Lubi did with the Palm Coast Observer, he said, “We spent these past two years, one, really improving our financial foundation, from a fiscal standpoint. We also furthered our relationships with local government entities, city of Palm Coast, Flagler County, city of Bunnell, in particular. We
really embraced and grew those relationships over The last couple of the years. The third thing is we were able to demonstrate for our members that we are relevant and that we strive to help them as small business owners, or even in some cases, larger business owners.”
During his first speech as Board Chair, Michael Chiumento shared that many positive things are happening in our region, and urged attendees to not get caught up in negative narratives, especially during election season.
The PCF Chamber Annual Meeting was capped off by the swearing-in of three local business leaders to serve two year terms on our Board of Directors. Congratulations to Jeff Annon (Southern States Management Group), Rich Cooper (Foundation Risk Partners) and Laura Gilvary (Intracoastal Bank) for being selected to serve on the 2024-2026 PCF Chamber Board of Directors!
