AI is reshaping the way we work. It saves time, sparks new ideas, and can actually be fun to experiment with and explore. And yes, I recently created an AI video avatar of myself—and it’s a bit surreal, pretty amazing and incredibly useful all wrapped up into one tool.

Using a platform called HeyGen, I recorded a 2-minute video of myself reading a script, and the AI used that to generate a lifelike avatar of me that now “delivers” videos I type up—without my ever stepping in front of the camera again. The result? I can create polished, on-brand videos in minutes. No retakes due to poor lighting, distracting background noise or stumbling over words. Just smart content creation.

Is it perfect? Not quite. I think it captured my hand gestures pretty well, but there are a few moments where my eyes look a little shifty, and there’s an awkward pause when I say my company name. This was actually the second avatar training video I recorded. I was moving my hands (I am Italian..) around too much in the first take.
