Third Space Improv Celebrates First Anniversary

Third Space Improv, a creative community space in downtown St. Augustine offering a six-level improv school, community events, improv comedy shows, summer camps, organization team building and unscripted experiences, is marking its first anniversary with a celebration on Jan. 11, according to a media release.

Third Space was founded by Amy Angelilli, a certified laughter yoga leader and author of “100 Things to Do in St. Augustine Before You Die.” She created Third Space as a place outside the home and apart from work — a third space — where people can come together to live in the moment, build self-confidence, and make new friends, the release states.

“The past year has been equal parts challenging and equal parts rewarding,” Angelilli said in the release. “You realize all the things you don’t know once you have a brick-and-mortar operation. Seeing the community grow, connect, and create makes it all worth it. That’s what a third space is all about.”

The first anniversary celebration will kick off with a free Champagne Happy Hour from 7-8 p.m. with a free show to follow at 200 Malaga Street #7.

“Amy has brought improv to St. Augustine, and we’re a better community because of it,” said improv member Amanda Johnson in the release. “Improv can feel like magic, and it’s because Amy has created a community, a space to learn active listening and how to be supportive of your teammates. It’s a beautiful thing.”
