UF Health Renews Agreement with Centene Insurance

UF Health Flagler Hospital and UF Health St. Johns-employed physicians renewed their agreement as participating providers with Centene insurance plans for Medicaid and health exchange insurance lines of business, according to a media release.

“The new contract strengthens our relationship with Centene and provides closer collaboration with a leading government insurance carrier,” said Huson Gilberstadt, chief medical officer for UF Health St. Johns, in the release. “The new agreement adds stability to patient access to our physician and hospital services and enhances health care delivery in our region.”

The agreement follows UF Health St. Johns’ announcement earlier this month of a new multiyear contract with Aetna. The agreements provide market-competitive rates and are designed to improve efficiency and care management for patients in Flagler and St. Johns counties and the surrounding area, the release states.

UF Health St. John’s is a division of the UF Health northeast Florida region caring for patients across St. John’s County. The region includes UF Health Flagler Hospital, with a 130-year legacy of caring for the community, and multispecialty practices at UF Health Nocatee and UF Health MuraBella as well as primary care and specialty practices in neighborhoods throughout St. Johns County and beyond.
