VBR: Developing Workforce and Funding Solutions

VBR: Developing Workforce and Funding Solutions

By this time, you may have already heard of Volusia Business Resources (VBR) and the critical support network that came together to launch and support this initiative. You may have even visited VolusiaBusinessResources.com and taken advantage of the business resource directory, calendar, and “How to Guides” on the site. There’s more.

The VBR website is an excellent source of information for businesses trying to navigate the hurtles that are blocking their goals to future success. Not only is there excellent content on the site now, but Volusia County Economic Development staff and business partners are also adding new information, articles, events, and resources sourced from over 40 local VBR affiliated business support resources partners.

As times change and the businesses communicate their increasing needs to our team, Volusia Business Resources responds by focusing on providing solutions that will directly impact those businesses by addressing their needs.

Currently, the VBR team is working on new ways to help businesses find workforce and gain access to capital.

The latest workforce initiative, WORKLOCAL, is a collaborative effort with Volusia County Economic Development and CareerSource Flagler Volusia to help identify and encourage individuals who have not been actively involved in seeking employment to return to the job market. Through the platform, a job seeker’s identity remains anonymous until they are matched with a business interested in potentially interviewing the candidate.

Chris Hodges, CEO and founder of GoGig Jobs Inc., the development company for WORKLOCAL, will present this exciting new tool for businesses and job seekers at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 during the DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce Workforce Solutions Conference at Daytona State College’s DeLand campus. Register for the event by clicking the event title on the Business Resources Calendar at VolusiaBusinessResources.com.

Business owners interested in advertising their open positions for free should contact Volusia County Economic Development Business Manager Katrina Friel at kfriel@volusia.org.

VBR is excited to bring you innovative solutions to your business’s needs. Please check VBR regularly for updates.
