From the Chair & President

This issue’s theme of “Driving Business” reminds us of the business  owners in Volusia County who sit in the driver’s seat every day, working hard to take their businesses to the next level on an economic roadway often marked by constant construction and detour signs. Like driving, growing your business takes time and focused attention. We realize business owners are so busy running their day-to-day operations that it’s difficult to increase visibility in the community and make the right connections to help their businesses grow.

The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce is a very cost-effective and time-efficient way to get help. Over 80 percent of our membership has fewer than 20 employees, and about 75 percent of those have less than 10. Like you, they know what it’s like to juggle today’s operations with tomorrow’s growth plan. We have almost 100 events and programs each year that can help you lead your business towards success. Some of available opportunities include:

  • Quality learning. We provide educational seminars, learning lunches, and special topic forums, all specifically targeting business success.
  • Networking. Numerous formal and informal networking opportunities help you connect with like-minded business people and with prospective customers and business partners.
  • Shaping economic solutions. With over 1,100 members, we provide a strong collective voice to influence important economic and political issues affecting your business. One business alone cannot facilitate change the way 1,100 businesses in unity can.
  • Getting better customer exposure. A recent nationwide study highlights that chamber membership significantly increases consumers’ awareness of your business and local reputation, making consumers 80 percent more likely to do business with you.
  • Volunteering. Volunteering enhances members’ reputations and makes a difference for our community.

The more involved members are, the greater the overall benefits! Chamber membership is like a JD Power® award for your business. At the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, helping you help yourself is our top priority. We welcome you to join us and jumpstart your journey to a better business!
