DSC Students Complete Entrepreneurship Program

Students in Daytona State College’s Digital and Interactive Media Production Program were recently honored as the first class to graduate from the college’s Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, according to a media release.

The program is an outgrowth of DSC’s Entrepreneurial Mindset Opportunity (EMO) Initiative, established with a Florida Department of Education grant used to create curriculum and resources to help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

The program leverages lessons from the book “Who Owns the Ice House?” to provide students with the skills, knowledge and experience to think like entrepreneurs, identify opportunities and act on them. The funding also supported teacher training partnerships with local businesses, a speaker series, and support for two “Entrepreneurs in Residence” who worked with faculty and students.

The grant also funded the EMO Resource Center, which serves as a meeting place for students and includes resources to support them in their endeavors.
