Held First Public Speaking Engagement at the Chamber’s St Augustine Historic Area Council

In March, long-time City Manager John Regan announced his retirement effective June 2, 2023. On May 8, the City Commission voted unanimously to appoint David Birchim, the Assistant City Manager to the top job.

Four days later, Mr. Birchim spoke to a capacity crowd at the St. Augustine Art Association giving the Historic Area Council members and general public a first look into his priorities for the coming year.

Touching on current vital issues such as infrastructure hardening, mobility, the Broudy Project, homelessness, and parking in downtown St. Augustine, Birchim spent over 45 minutes laying out his visions for the City of St. Augustine and answering questions from the audience.

Planning and Zoning Director Amy Skinner discussed the importance of the business community filling out and returning the City’s detailed Downtown Parking Plan questionnaire to insure that their needs are addressed.
