Transportation is a hot topic everywhere you go! The editorial board had fun with this topic because there are so many different ways to look at transportation in Volusia County.
Location is the first thing that comes to mind. It’s clear from his interview that Keith Norden of Team Volusia, who has a quiet, unassuming style, is locked and loaded when he plays his cards at the table of business recruitment. He and the other business recruiters in our area have a couple of aces up their sleeves. Volusia is a great place to live and is located at the interchange of I4 and I95. Beat that, everyone!
When it comes to enjoying our beautiful surroundings, biking is a great way to spend your time, and Flaunt Electric Vehicles combine sustainability and speed and offer people of all fitness levels a great way to access the beach, the trails and neighborhoods. Flaunt is a great way to shop local and get away from it all on a relaxing ride, no matter what the wind is doing that day.
Perhaps one of the most significant discussions on our radar is infrastructure! In the Road Ahead, our local planning guru, Maryam Ghyabi, shares her thoughts on what we need to consider as the county grows. We have several “choke points” in our view, but there are also many bright spots that are just about to blossom. It takes time, and we must be patient. Development is changing, and we need to keep our eye on the ball and not get too greedy for more.
So, all in all…while we complain about traffic (really!?!) let’s keep making smart decisions and realize we need to work together.
