How have you, or your organization benefited from membership in the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce?

Absolutely! We have grown over 50% since becoming a member and our YOY is up each year. We have gained multiple relationships within the chamber that have been valuable and will last a lifetime.

What advice would you give a new chamber member to maximize their membership?

GO TO THE MEETINGS! They are so valuable. Pick the ones that fit your needs and attend. Build your network.

What career advice do you live by?

“Running a business is like holding on to the tail of a grizzly bear. You let go and it will eat you but if you hang on it will drag you to death.” BE FLEXIBLE IN AN EVERCHANGING BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT and FIND YOUR EVEN KEEL.

What are the biggest challenges facing St. Johns County today?

Residential growth is outpacing business growth. St. Johns county has to be careful to set the pace the correct way and encourage our elected officials to create the jobs before you bring the residents. Encourage elected leaders to offer tax, rebates or local credit benefits to local businesses for hiring local residents and other programs that are attractive.

How do you define success?

Being able to lay your head down each night and know by God’s grace that you were honest and watched your family, company and employees grow ready to tackle the next day.

What past experiences or roles have led you to where you are today?

US Navy and being a husband and father of 7.

What is a fun fact about you?

I enjoy Boating, SEC Football and studying my Bible. I like the movie Sound of Music as well. That’s my soft side coming out for a classic movie! Ha-ha.
