Superintendent LaShakia Moore Meets with Business Leaders

Flagler Schools Superintendent LaShakia Moore visited with the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber Board of Directors at their January 2024 meeting. Superintendent Moore shared her vision for Flagler Schools, discussed her “Flagler Forward” initiative and provided an honest assessment of challenges facing Flagler Schools. Chamber Board members shared their perspectives on education-related subjects and were thankful for her visit and for seeking out ways to strengthen Flagler Schools.

The 25-minute presentation and question-and-answer session with the Chamber Board of Directors provided a reminder of how government is sometimes very similar to private-sector businesses. Specifically, Superintendent Moore shared her perspectives on changing culture, building a team and improving measurable results. These are all topics private sector business leaders address daily.

The Chamber has been impressed by Superintendent Moore’s passion, vision and commitment to building an excellent school system. She has also researched gaps in Flagler County’s educational performance and is developing solutions to help improve Flagler Schools’ overall rating, issued by the State of Florida. The Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber supports Superintendent Moore’s efforts to strengthen Flagler Schools and thanks her for her time and effort to engage Chamber members.

The Chamber will continue to advocate in support of high-performing local schools. After all, the business community receives the end-result of our education system.
